OUR FIRST GARDEN

I have wanted to have a garden since 2020. Each spring I've bought some seeds but that's as far as it goes. The entire thing is intimidating to me for some reason but I decided this is the year I make it happen. If it works out it works out but either way it will be a fun learning experience for me and the boys to do together. We planted our seeds today and I can't wait to watch them start to grow!

When I start a new hobby I have the tendency to jump right in head first and then buy all of the supplies! I'm trying to refrain when it comes to gardening until I see if it's something that sticks. The garden tool bag set is something I'm thinking about asking for for my birthday. I'll need some gardening tools and a bag would be nice to hold them all as well as my leftover seeds.

I'm still not sure what kind of beds we are going to go with. I really like the ones pictured below from Vego Gardens. I first came across them from Grace Start's beautiful backyard garden. We'll either purchase a couple of their 17" 9in1 beds or Jeremy will build something!

I really tried to narrow down what plants to start with. There were so many things I wanted to try but I don't want to be overwhelmed with it and I want it to be successful. I can always add to it but I'd rather start small. We are going to be doing companion planting and I'm really excited about the flowers we'll be growing.

I purchased Back to the Roots seeds where I could because they're organic. I didn't link to them all but you should be able to find the rest of their seeds through the links I listed below. I need to go look at my little pots but I'll try and remember all we planted.

Spinach

Bell Peppers

Tomatoes

Green Beans

Sugar Snap Peas

Watermelon

Strawberries

Lavender

Chamomile

Cosmos

Zinnias

Alyssum

Daisies

I'll have to keep y'all posted on our progress! Wish us luck! :)

  1. I've been trying to create my own little garden, and of course these organic plants are my favorite.
