One of my go-to gifts are these candied pecans. They are always a hit with family and Jeremy’s coworkers. (I’m not sure how many people outside of our family we will give these to this year since people are extra freaked out...🤷🏼♀️ But this is definitely something you should keep in your back pocket!😉)
I started out using the first recipe that came up on Google but over the years I’ve put my own spin on them (*brown sugar 😋). They are delicious and a treat we have once a year. I found these little Santa tags at Walmart and used some yarn I had in my wrapping stash.☺️ Let me know if you try these out!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon (heaping) brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1 pound pecan halves
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1 Preheat oven to 250° F (120° C).
STEP 2 Whisk egg white and water together until frothy. Toss pecans in mixture until completely covered.
STEP 3 In a separate bowl, mix sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together. Add in the pecans and toss until they are evenly coated. Spread coated pecans onto baking sheet.
STEP 4 Put in the oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until pecans are evenly browned.
BONUS Sprinkle extra brown sugar on top while pecans are cooling. Just trust me.
